The second one in the series of healthy breakfasts or healthy meals in general is another one of my favourite, Broken Wheat salad. Broken wheat is another versatile ingredient which can be played around a lot with a variety of flavours. Broken wheat as an ingredient is bland but gets into its own when mixed with either sweet or savoury flavours. Even sour flvours for that matter.
I generally, make the broken wheat salad by mixing it to curd and some pomegranates, slightly sweet, sour and salty. This time i decided to change it a bit and make it more crunchier. This salad is also a mix of equal proportions on carb & protein.
Following is an easy cook healthy breakfasts. All you have to do is get the prep done quickly 🙂
Here goes the recipe:
Broken Wheat Salad - Healthy Breakfast

- 1/2 cup Broken Wheat
- 1/2 cup cottage cheese (paneer) cut into small cubes or you could replace with any cheese that you like
- 1/2 cup finely cut lettuce
- 1/2 finely chopped onion
- 1/2 finely chopped tomato
- 1 finely chopped green chilli
- 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves
- 1 tsp chaat masala
- Salt to taste
Instructions
Cook the Broken wheat with 2 cups of water for 4-5 whistles in a pressure cooker.
Don't forget to add the cloves while cooking. The cloves add a distinct flavour to the Broken wheat.
Once cooked, take it out of the cooker, let it cool.
Keep it in the refrigerator if you like your salad cold.
In a mixing bowl, mix all the ingredients well
Add the broken wheat
Top it up with EVOO and the chaat masala
mix well and your salad is ready
