Another left over related recipe. I would even go ahead and try to make this specifically for my guests. Many guest who come to our house are vegetarians and Vaishnavas. Going without onion and garlic is a tough game with this game was worth the play.

Its a very simple dish and does not require too much of skill to make. Its so simple that a 6 year old can make this dish.

As the name Dahi bombs suggests, the core of this snack is Curd or yoghurt. The bite into this fried heaven brings a burst of curd in your mouth mixed with a large amount of flavours.

Ingredients

  • Base Ingredients:
  • Boiled rice - 1.5 cups
  • Soaked Poha - 0.5 cups
  • Curd - 3 tbsp
  • Boiled potato - 1 small
  • For the tempering
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 8-9 Curry Leaves
  • 2 Finely chopped chillies
  • 1 tsp grated Ginger
  • 1 tsp Udad Dal
  • 4-5 Methi seeds
  • 0.5 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Frying
  • Oil as required

Instructions

Mix the Base ingredients together

Ensure that the potato is mashed completely

Put the tadka pan on the gas

Add the oil

Add the mustard seeds and let them splutter a bit

Add the curry leaves

Add the Udal Dal and Methi seed, let them change colour a bit to brown.

Add the ginger and finely chopped chillies

Let them cook together for about 20-30 secs and pour the tempering into the mixture

Make balls of eual sixe and refrigerate for an hour

Get ready for deep frying.

Fry the balls till golden brown

Remove from fire and serve without sides or with maybe a nice green chutney. My daughter likes ketchup, so ketchup it was.

    Hiii..this sure is a simple and yummy recipe but just checking where & when did the dahi go into the dahi bombs?? Is it hung curd stuffed into the tikkis before frying??
